Benevello
Situated 671 metres above sea level, Benevello’s best feature is its sweeping landscape views. From the Church of the Madonna di Langa you can enjoy a complete panorama of southern Piedmont leading to the Alps, where Mont Viso raises his ghostly face above the clouds. The name of the town is derived from the Latin Benevellum, which mean bulwark or good defence. o Which is probably what attracted the Falletti Marquees to build fortification atop an earlier 12th-century castle. Alongside agriculture, Benevello’s primary economy is the raising of veal and hosts a traditional fair each year.
