Castino
Castina is built on a ridge between the Bormida Valley and the Belbo Valley, the two main tributaries to the Tanaro. It is an ancient village with Celtic origins under the control of the Ligurian states. Nowadays, it is mainly inhabited by farmers since the primary economy is cereal production and winemaking. The stone flagstones of the historic centre, built in the Middle Ages, are carefully preserved and an original washhouse is still in use today.
